HERITAGE QUEST
Suggest you use Heritage Quest (H.Q.) that is now available Free online at the LARFHC using the ICON described above. H.Q. has all 1790 - 1930 census images online BUT only 1790, 1800, 1810, 1820, 1860, 1870, 1880, 1910 and 1920 are indexed. H.Q. has only the heads of households so it is suggested that you use the 1880, 1900 and 1920 indexes at Ancestry.com and the census index books for the other censuses to find the information needed to use the "Browse" in H.Q.. ANCESTRY LIBRARY EDITION
If you go to a library such as the Los Angeles Public Library you will find the limited Ancestry Library Edition
that has 4000 of the 24,545 resources that can now be accessed on all the computers at the LARFHC.
Ancestry Library Edition has more than four billion names in over 4,000 databases and has a comprehensive online source of information for conducting genealogical research. Census records; birth, marriage, and death records; immigration records; vital and church records; military records; and court, land, and probate records are included. Popular databases include the U.S. Federal Census from 1790 to 1930, Social Security Death Index, Civil War records, U.S. Public Records Index, American Genealogical-Biographical Index and slave narratives.
