The Los Angeles Regional Family History Center or LARFHC was established in 1964 to service the needs of the then 6.4 million citizens of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Non members are welcome and there is no charge for facility use. Last year 60% of those coming to the LARFHC were not members of the Church. The LARFHC has the LARGEST holdings of any branch in the Family History Library System of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The center has access to the 2.4 million microfilms in the Salt Lake City Family History Library.

The LARFHC is located behind the Los Angeles LDS Temple on "Temple Hill" and downstairs in the Visitor's Center. Access is via the east side of the Visitor's Center.

Directions
Exit on the San Diego 405 Freeway to Santa Monica Blvd and go east 13 blocks. Turn left from Santa Monica Boulevard onto Manning, make first left onto Eastbourne and the entrance to Temple Hill. Follow the signs to the Temple Visitor's Center.

From the Santa Monica Freeway (10), exit on Overland going north to Santa Monica Boulevard. Turn right on "Big" Santa Monica Boulevard then an immediate left on Manning Avenue, first left on Eastbourne and the entrance to Temple Hill. Follow the signs to the Temple Visitor's Center.
